Mayoral Campaign

To kick-start this years Muff Festival we have our nominees for the Mayoral Campaign.   The winner of the campaign is defined by that individual who raises the most money for their chosen charity or group.  The results of the Mayoral Campaign will be announced in The Rock Bar on Thursday August 2nd.  The winner will then open the festival on the Friday evening (Aug. 3rd) by leading the Mayors Parade.  In addition the winner will also be on hand for presentation of prizes throughout the festival.

First up this year is Patsy Walsh who will be fund-raising for the Sheltered Housing project who aim to build housing units for the elderly in Muff Village.  Please do give generously to this very worthy cause.  Patsy has fundraising sheets in all local businesses.  Some of the fund-raising events planned by Patsy are:

Cake and Home Produce Sale,  Thursday July 26th @ 8:00pm, Knowhead Hall

Social, Friday July 27th 9:30-12:30pm, St Marys Community Hall.  Music & Refreshments

Next is Neil Toye who will be fund-raising for the Naomh Padraig GAA Club and also for iCare who provide support and information to families living with Autism.  Both these group are deserving so do give generously.  Neil has fundraising sheets in all local businesses where he aims to raise money by having you guess his weight by the end of the campaign, he is currently shedding the pounds so for a few euro guess a few times!  Neil will also be running the following fundraising events:
