Back-to-back competition The teams have been submitted and the draw has been made and we are ready to kick-off this years Back-to-Back. Contenders are as follows:
Scroll down to see photos and results from each night! Sat. June 30th After an excellent night we have our first Semi-Final team, Mary Deeney's were the winners last night. Congratulations to both teams, the competition was extremely close with a margin of just 1 point between the teams. Both teams have set a very high standard for the remaining teams so good luck to all. Friday July 6th On Friday July 6th we had the second heat in the Back to Back competition. Another big crowd turned out to see the Rock Bar team sing against the Irish Emeralds. Music and singing from both teams was of very high standard again but unfortunately only one team can go through. The Rock Bar team were the winners last night so congratulations to them. Friday July 13th Another excellent night was had in the Ture Inn on Friday night with a very high standard of singing from both teams. By another very close margin the Squealin' Pig team were the winners on the night but congratulations to both teams. Next week is the last heat in the first round with the Lynch Mob singing against the Rockin Chairs in the Rock Bar so see you there! Since this is the final heat we shall also be announcing who is the highest loser who will go forward with the three heat winners to the Semi-Finals. Friday July 20th Due to circumstances beyond our control both teams failed to turn up for the Back-To-Back Competition on Friday night. Despite the let down from the teams a large crowd turned out to support the night. The band for the night, Dallas, provided excellent music and entertainment and much appreciation to the many singers who took to the stage throughout the night. We now move forward to the next round of the competition - the Semi-Finals with the following draw: Squealin' Pig v Irish Emeralds Ture Inn v Rock Bar Due to 2 semi-finals on one night we plan to start at 9pm next Friday so arrive early! Good luck to all next week! Friday July 27th Mary Deeneys hosted the Semi-Finals of the Back-to-Back to a packed out bar & lounge. Each of the four teams brought along much support along with the many others who support the back-to-back. The highest standard we have seen so far was played out on Friday night making it very difficult for our judge. Unfortunately only 3 teams could go through to the final and those were The Rock Bar, Ture Inn & Squealin' Pig so congratulations to those teams but commiserations to The Irish Emeralds who were excellent also and we hope to see you back next year.
